Mapio Port Tool Specifications
|
Check whether or not one unit can access a specific port on another unit in your network.
The Mapio Port Tool is a light-weight and easy-to-use application with a multitude of functions. It runs entirely without any internet access, has no accompanying DLLs or other files (except the license) and does not require any installation. Its primary function is to establish whether or not one unit can access a specific port on another unit in your network. This function has been dubbed the Beacon. It has since then been evolving in many small steps to include a variety of functions.
First of these is the Port Inspector, allowing you to see what is using which port. Second is the CMD+ function. This basically runs as a Command Prompt, but with added functionality, including: It can run several commands simultaneously; Copy/Paste is simple; A bundle of common-use commands are ready for use in a few clicks; The output is searchable or even filtered to only return what you need. Third is the Network Scan function. It scans a range of IP-addresses within your network, returning information on each hit containing the IP address, MAC address, Model name, Serial number and Hostname. It even works in other subnets. Fourth is the IP Calculator, which is used to see what range an IP address is in. As an additional bonus, the application scans the range and shows you which of the IP addresses in the range that are taken. The fifth tool is the Telnetter, which is used to run telnet commands across multiple connections in the same window. You no longer need to install telnet on a client machine. The sixth tool implemented is the LDAP Central. It allows you to search the AD for a specific user and/or user group and get the specific path leading down to the results shown in a simple tree structure. Lastly, but not least, is Myself. A simple way to get all the information you need on the current PC and User. All in all, what you get is a tool that'll provide you with all the information you need to illuminate whatever issue arises.
