Short on looks but long on ease of use, FrameShots Video Screen Capture captures your favorite movie scenes to single JPEGs or thumbnail galleries. Handy navigational controls let you quickly browse movies and snag the frames you need. Skip buttons move a certain number of frames backward or forward within the movie. Taking a snapshot is as easy as clicking a button. Alternately, a batch mode captures frames at set time intervals. Sliders for brightness, contrast, and sharpening allow simple adjustments to the captured image, and the program can chop off any black edges. FrameShots Video Screen Capture lacks a manual, and the online help is sketchy. But the program is so simple, most users shouldn't have trouble. As with most programs of this type, the demo slaps a watermark on captured images. Nevertheless, we recommend it to home users, especially those with online video collections. Version 2.2.4 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, and bug fixes.
