Digeus Junk Files Cleaner is an easy-to-use program that scans for and deletes unneeded files that can negatively impact your computer's performance. Although the program has the potential to be very useful, as with all programs of this type, users will want to be very careful about what they delete.

The application's interface is quite basic and easy to understand. A series of check boxes allows users to select what kind of files they want to scan for, including temporary files, invalid shortcuts, obsolete items in Program Files, empty folders, and so-on. The program then performs the scan and provides a list of file names, along with the file type and size, that it has determined to be junk. Users simply uncheck the files that they don't want to delete, click the Delete button, and the program trashes the rest. The program is thorough--it found quite a few junk files on our computer -- but novice users especially will want to be wary of deleting everything that the program comes across. The program means well, but it isn't necessarily capable of making decisions about which files definitely are junk. Beginners might want to do some research or ask a more experienced friend before they go deleting files willy-nilly. The program's built-in Help file does a good job of offering basic instructions, but it won't tell you what files you should and should not delete.
