After installation and running the application for the first time, Search Everything creates an index of the names of every file and folder on the volume from the file metadata in the NTFS Master File Table. As all mounted NTFS volumes are indexed, it is continually updated by the Search from the NTFS change journal. Search Everything then searches this index for file names matching your search terms and parameters. VeryUtils Search Everything is a smart little utility that uses hardly any memory, or processor time for that matter, to operate effectively. The interface is based on a standard explorer window, and users of all levels of expertise will be able to get to grips with it very easily.
