FileUpdateCheckTool Specifications
|
Detect updates of files in the specified folders.
This software is a file update checker. Compares previously acquired information with newly acquired information. If there are differences, it can be listed on the screen or output to a file. You can choose from update date and time, file size, owner, and SHA1 as the information to compare. These are the information that changes when the file is modified.
As for the ownership of the file, we have confirmed that it can be retrieved in the local environment and in Workgroups. It has not, however, been tested to work properly in a domain or Active Directory environment. If the owner's ID cannot be obtained, the SID will be displayed. Normally you can detect file changes by selecting the date and time of the change. However, if you want to make a strict comparison, select SHA-1. SHA-1 comparisons will ensure that changes are detected. However, be aware that obtaining SHA-1 will take some time.
