That's why we created a free application called "TTS++". It's a Windows Application that opens RTF documents on your desktop computer, laptop, or windows tablet.

You can use the application to read the text for you in spoken words. You can change the voice from male to female voice, but you can also use SSML tags to tweak the text-to-speech voice even more.

With TTS++ you can also unlock Cortana's digitized voice, and let her read your documents, or text-to-speech eBooks.
