MyCar-Monitor Editor's review

From fuel consumption to replacement parts, this comprehensive software enables users to manage and record a vast amount of data about their vehicles. MyCar-Monitor's well-designed interface offers several modules to help record maintenance, trips, accidents, payments, and tire wear, among other options. You can easily add your own information to the database, or use preloaded pull-down menus. The program is easy to operate, though the number of entry fields to manage seems a bit overwhelming. You can add photographs of your vehicles and create a database of stripped parts.

A number of handy tools and calculators--such as a finance tracker, fuel consumption calculator, and loan calculator--are also included. Moreover, the program offers a variety of reports, with a satisfying number of export formats, including XLS, HTML, RTF, TXT and CSV. Built-in car maintenance links allow you to quickly access sites when you're in search of fuel economy tips or car parts. The publisher claims that MyCar-Monitor is a freeware, but actually it's fully functional for only the first 10 launches. For full access thereafter, you have to send the publisher an e-mail and wait for your free activation code. Overall, MyCar-Monitor is a solid option for keeping track of general and maintenance data for vehicle owners.
