MySlideShow Gold is an easy-to-use program that allows users to create basic photo slideshows. We were pleased with the program's intuitive layout and useful--if not mind-blowing--features.

The program's interface is comprised of a series of panes and it took us a moment to get a grasp on how it was organized, but it soon became clear. One box shows a tree-style display of the contents of the user's computer, which makes it easy for users to navigate to the photos they want to use. Once they select the appropriate folder, its contents are displayed in another pane, and users select the photos that they want to include in the slideshow. Users can then adjust the order of the images, add captions, and remove duplicates. Optionally select some background music, click play, and viola! Your slideshow is done. The program contains the usual features that one would expect of a slideshow program; users can adjust the time each photo is displayed, customize the transition effects, and so-on. Users can save their slideshows as executable files or screensavers. There are no really outstanding features, but we poked around quite a bit looking for something we'd want to do to our slideshow that the program didn't support, and all the basics were there. The program's built-in Help file is well done, although we didn't need to consult it.
