I have a serial to usb adaptor, with Windows 7 automatically detecting it as a Prolific-to-Serial Comm Port but with an error of Code 10. I installed this driving hoping it would resolve this problem, but no luck. On further reading it is possible that my adaptor was a cheap Chinese copy which was incompatible with Windows 7.
